FAQ

Restoring the trim in a car?

We offer a service specialising in the restoration of decorative trim. We carry out comprehensive restoration of decorative interior car components – from the centre console and dashboard to the door panels and steering wheel.<\n

What types of decorative trim do we restore?

We specialise in the restoration of all types of finishes:

  • Lacquered elements – gloss black (piano black), matt, soft-touch,
  • Wood imitations – veneers, lacquered wood-look panels,
  • Metal imitations – brushed aluminium, chrome, titanium, carbon-look,
  • Textured panels – with texture, embossing, 3D patterns.

The most common problems we repair

  • Scratches and surface dulling,
  • Discolouration and staining (e.g. from the sun),
  • Wear of the paint finish,
  • Cracks and chips in the paintwork,
  • Loss of gloss or the ‘piano black’ effect,
  • Mechanical damage (dents, scratches).

The restoration process

Depending on the type of damage and the material, restoration involves:

  • Dismantling components (we can carry this out in-house or accept dismantled parts),
  • Precise removal of the damaged paint coating,
  • Surface preparation – sanding, levelling,
  • Repainting in the original colour and finish (gloss, matt, textured),
  • Application of UV- and abrasion-resistant protective layers,
  • Fitting of components (optional).

What determines the price of the restoration?

The cost of the service is determined on a case-by-case basis, as it depends on many factors:

  • Type and number of components – a single trim strip, a complete centre console, the entire dashboard,
  • Type of material and finish – plain paint, wood effect, carbon texture require different techniques,
  • Extent of damage – whether polishing is sufficient or a full repaint is necessary,
  • Dismantling and refitting – whether the customer supplies the dismantled parts or we provide a full service including dismantling in the car,
  • Car model and year – newer premium cars may require more complex dismantling,
  • Additional services – e.g. crack repair, reconstruction of missing parts.

How to get a quote?

Ideally:

  1. Take photos of the damaged parts (close-ups + the entire interior),
  2. Provide the make, model and year of manufacture of the car,
  3. Let us know if you can supply the dismantled parts or if you require a full service,
  4. Contact us – we will prepare a personalised quote.

If you are in the Poznań area, we invite you to a free inspection at our workshop – after examining the car, we will provide an exact price and completion time.

Why is it worth refurbishing rather than replacing?

  • Huge savings – new trim strips at an authorised service centre can cost several thousand zlotys,
  • Preserving originality – particularly important for classic cars,
  • Better finish quality – we use paints that are more durable than factory-fitted ones,
  • Fast turnaround – usually 3–7 working days.
