No – the change is purely visual, and the electronics inside the button are never touched. Restoration works on the outer cap: removing the old, faded coating, repainting it, and laser-engraving the symbol back into the surface. The switch mechanism underneath – the part that actually registers your press and sends the signal to your car’s electronics – stays exactly as it was, untouched throughout the process. So the button controls the same function, responds the same way, and fits back into the same socket it came from. The only difference after restoration is that the symbol is legible and the surface looks new again, instead of worn, scratched, or faded.
