How to refurbish buttons in an old truck?
Buttons in older trucks and lorries take a different kind of wear than passenger cars – years of heavy daily use, sun exposure through a large windscreen, and constant hand contact wear the paint and lettering faster than in a car that’s driven occasionally. Refurbishment is usually the most practical fix, especially since replacement parts for older truck models are often discontinued or hard to source. The process: the button or module is dismantled, thoroughly cleaned to remove the old coating, repainted with a durable finish, and the markings are re-engraved with a laser so they’re sharp and legible again – which matters for safety, since misreading a control at night is a real risk in a cab full of similar-looking switches. The result restores both appearance and full functionality, and works the same for dashboards, control consoles, and individual switches.
