Ford Focus – changing the radio colour from silver to matt black and refurbishing the buttons

The light silver radio housing in the Ford Focus did not match the vehicle’s dark interior. Furthermore, the worn-out icons on the backlit buttons made it difficult to use the navigation and multimedia system comfortably, particularly after dark.

As part of the project, we carried out a comprehensive colour change and refurbishment of the radio unit. The process involved:
- removal of the entire radio panel from the centre console,
- chemical removal of the original silver paint coating,
- professional painting in matt black,
- laser engraving of all pictograms on the backlit buttons,
- specialist measurements of light intensity – ensuring that every button emits the correct light intensity after refurbishment,
- final protection of the paint finish,
- assembly in accordance with factory tolerances.
Final result: the radio in elegant matt black blends perfectly with the interior, whilst laser technology guarantees the durability of the symbols and correct button backlighting for years of use.
