Complete refurbishment of the VW T5 centre console – sticky paintwork, worn buttons
Problem
Completely damaged centre console in a VW T5. Plastic components covered in sticky varnish, worn-out icons on the heating, air conditioning and multimedia control buttons, faded colour markings (red and blue), flaking varnish and a completely invisible ESP button (without a coating). The condition of the console made it impossible to use the vehicle comfortably.
Type of material
Lacquered plastic – complete VW T5 centre console (radio, multimedia, air conditioning panel, control buttons, air vents)
Solutions applied
As part of the project, we carried out a full, multi-stage restoration of the entire centre console. The process included:
- removal of the complete centre console from the vehicle,
- dismantling all individual components – buttons, displays, electronic modules,
- chemical removal of damaged, sticky paint coatings from all components,
- thorough cleaning and degreasing of each component,
- precision painting with UV- and abrasion-resistant paints,
- laser reproduction of all pictograms, including coloured markings (red and blue temperature symbols),
- regeneration of the ESP button with complete restoration of the marking,
- reassembly of all components whilst maintaining factory tolerances and functionality,
- testing of all buttons and displays.
Final result: the centre console looks brand new, all buttons and markings are legible, and laser technology guarantees the durability of the symbols for years of intensive use. A complex operation completed with complete success.
