Damaged paintwork on the door lock button, hazard warning light button and fan housing in Mercedes CLK, SL and SLK models. The symbols on the buttons were worn and illegible, whilst the surface of the fan housing showed signs of wear typical of long-term use.

Damaged paintwork on the buttons – Mercedes CLK, SL and SLK

Type of material

Painted plastic – buttons and interior components of the Mercedes CLK/SL/SLK (door lock button, hazard warning light button, fan housing)

Solutions applied

As part of the project, we carried out a comprehensive restoration of the damaged components. The process involved:

  • removing the buttons and the fan housing from the interior panel,
  • removal of damaged paintwork along with the remains of old pictograms,
  • thorough cleaning and preparation of the surface for the new coating,
  • application of a new, abrasion- and UV-resistant paint coating to the buttons and other components,
  • laser engraving of new pictograms – the door lock symbol and hazard warning lights – in accordance with the original specifications,
  • reassembly of all components in the interior panel.

Final result: the buttons and fan housing look as good as new, whilst the clear, laser-engraved pictograms guarantee durability and ease of use for years to come.
